Minors secure final place with big win in Navan
Minor Hurling Div 2, round 4:
Kiltale 10-22
O’Mahonys/Wolfe Tones 0-08
We needed a win last week to secure a spot in the county final and the lads came up trumps, plus some more, with a devastating display in Navan.
The new pitch on the Trim road is a fantastic facility for the O’Mahony’s club with a really good surface for hurling.
Early points from Donal Matthews and goals from fellow front-line forward Adam McDonnell set the tone and the away side were 3-04 to 0-00 up after 10 minutes.
The O’M/WT side just couldn’t cope with the two inside forwards and it took 15 minutes before they got on the scoreboard, Evan Clarke had added another goal with an incredible solo effort which started near the sideline and ended up in the net. At half-time the game was over as a contest with Kiltale leading 9-14 to 0-04 thanks to more scores from McDonnell and Matthews and Eoghan Frayne chipping in with a goal and placed balls.
Captain Gavan McVann also got on the score-sheet with a goal – one for the scrapbook for the full-back turned centre-back. Kiltale made wholesale positional and substitution changes at half-time and the game petered out to its inevitable conclusion.
The big focus now is on the final which is scheduled for October 5th vs Dunboyne. We do however have to play Dunboyne in the final game of the group stage.
Scorers Kiltale:A. McDonnell 5-03; D. Matthews 2-07; E. Frayne 1-08; E. Clarke 1-01; G. McVann 1-01; S. Hughes 0-02null

Support the Clubhouse
The clubhouse is a very important facility in our parish and always needs support. Like other clubs we don’t want to know what it is to be without it. Drop in for a drink or an ESSENCE Coffee or think about using the facility for a party or meeting.
