Kiltale minors looked resplendent in their new McCormack Farms -sponsored jerseys as they put Wolfe Tones to the sword to make it two wins out of two in the Div 2 championship at Kiltale on Saturday.
A first half goal from Ryan Daly got the maroon and greens off to a good start and they led 1-03 to 0-02 at half time.
It probably should have been a bigger gap but Kiltale dominated possession but failed to convert all their chances. Any Wolfe Tones threat was quickly snuffed out by the Kiltale back-line led by the excellent Charlie McCormack and Craig Gilsenan.
However the home team kicked on on the second half aided by the tireless Dara McVann and Vinny Walsh in midfield and a superb Sean Lynch goal capped a man of the match performance form the Kiltale forward.
Points from Noah O’Dea (2), Conor Quinn (3) and Luke Gallagher (2) added to the tally but two performances that caught the eye came from the team’s youngest players and Minor debutants David Regan and Luke O’Halloran who each chipped in with a point themselves.
