This year’s fundraiser will be a relay run involving all of our adult players both hurling and camogie and the footballers from our sister club Moynalvey but everyone is welcome to participate.

I hope you are all keeping safe and well in these unprecedented times. It has been heartening to see the people of our community and parish pull together to support each other in numerous unseen ways. There is now light at the end of the tunnel and Kiltale Hurling and Camogie Club are ready to embrace the new normal.Due to COVID‐19 we are unable to have our annual “The Walk and Talk” fundraiser.
This fundraiser was our biggest funding for the year, which covers costs of running the club and keeping the extensive grounds. Kiltale has had a very successful period on the field that culminated in an historic 5 in-a-row senior championships.
We are eager to get back and try to regain the coveted Jubilee Cup. Our camogie team are also back to winning ways and are looking forward to a return to the senior ranks this year. These teams are only the flagship of a thriving club that caters for young boys and girls, and those not so young with the very popular walking track.The grounds are used extensively by teams from age 6 to senior across the parish.
With no income from our clubhouse, and traditional fundraising initiatives, we need to get creative to generate funds to keep the grounds and overheads covered until next year. Most importantly, we need to pay the remainder of our public liability so we can open our grounds for all teams to get back training, and of course opening up the walkway for all our members to enjoy a walk or run.
There are also a number of infrastructural projects, such as the walking track extension, dugout renovations and netting we would like to progress.As mentioned above, the fundraiser is going to be a relay run starting at the clubhouse, taking in some parish scenery, and ending at the clubhouse. The distance is 12km and each runner will run 3k or 6k click elbow and next runner will run the subsequent leg.All of our adult players both hurling and camogie and the footballers from our sister club Moynalvey will be taking part and anyone within the parish is welcome to give it a go.
We aim to have 100 plus runners and at the end of the nonstop run we will have achieved 600km in total, which may even be an Irish record for longest relay!!
There will also be an opportunity for those less ambitious to participate by walking the track, and those with more agricultural inclinations to join a tractor run on the route.Watch out for the details of a GoFundMe that will be set up for everyone to support their friends, family and the club.
It will take a huge effort by all involved as the run will take place over 24 hours non-stop from Saturday, June 20th through to Sunday the 21st.

We are working under strict guidelines handed down by Croke Park, please read below.
All users of the track must be a member of the club – social membership is available for €25 for the remainder of 2020. It will be €50 for a full year in 2021
There will be supervisors on duty – if you are not a member please pay them directly – you will need to provide them with your name, mobile phone number and email address for registration
We are awaiting delivery of wristbands, once they arrive (hopefully next week), you will be required to wear it so we know you are a member. Wristbands can be collected from supervisors at the track once we get them
We are permitted to open for four hours only – from 5pm until 9pm – the first hour will be for cocooners ONLY
All other areas of the ground are strictly off limits, including pitches and hurling walls-
No group training or similar group activities- Social distancing must be adhered to

Goal Mile 2019 – Christmas Morning
By now an annual fixture on our festive calendar, the GOAL Christmas Mile returns this December 25th – Christmas Morning – at Kiltale GAA track from 11am to 12 noon.
Run/Jog/Walk a mile for this great cause! Adults and Children all welcome.
Walkers, runners, young and old, all welcome to this family fun event on Christmas morning in aid of Goal. Why not take 15 minutes out on Christmas morning, get some fresh air and run or walk a mile in aid of a very worthy cause before settling into the day’s festivities.
No registration required, just show up on the day, donate and run or walk the mile!

Our minors showed on Saturday that the future is bright with a deserved seven point win over St Peter’s Dunboyne.
Minor Hurling Div 2 Final: Kiltale 4-09 St Peters Dunboyne 2-08
In difficult conditions Kiltale and Dunboyne played out an exciting final on Saturday in Pairc Tailteann. There was never going to be much between the two sides that swept through the division unbeaten and so it proved for much of the match before a late Vinny Walsh goal settled things in second half injury time.
The wet surface made it hard for the players to maintain clean possession in the early part of the encounter but as both sides got used to conditions the hurling standard improved markedly.
Dunboyne settled slightly better and led early with a point from Simon Cunningham, with Kiltale ruing a number of wides as the full forward line of Adam McDonnell,
Donal Matthews and Eoin McCabe tried to get to grips with the wide open spaces of the county grounds. However the nerves were soon settled when McCabe slotted home a goal from close quarters after 10 minutes after some good work from centre forward Sean Hughes. Soon there was another goal when Matthews knocked the sliotar down to McDonnell who struck cleanly to the net, the inside line were now firing on all cylinders.
With Eoghan Frayne now dominating the midfield, Kiltale took control, Evan Clarke was running at speed at the Dunboyne defence and Gavin McVann was controlling the half back area. One of the youngest players on the pitch Charlie McCormack gave a flawless first half performance at corner back and he was aided well by Sean McKenna and Jeff Wall.
Further points from McDonnell and Frayne came before Matthews struck a third goal and the side in maroon led 3-03 to 0-05 at half time. Brian Donnelly (free), Joe Humphreys and Cunningham were keeping the scoreboard ticking over for Dunboyne.
With Darragh McVann, Luke Moran and Michael Brady dominating with pure hard work around the middle, Kiltale started the second half strongly with points from Frayne, McDonnell and substitute Conor Quinn but Dunboyne weren’t giving up easily and netted through a Liam Callanan goal after 45 minutes, this was just after a Cunningham free. With nine minutes left Dunboyne were awarded a penalty when Kiltale full back Aidan Fraher was adjudged to have taken down one of the Dunboyne forwards and Brian Donnelly struck home despite a brave effort by goalkeeper Liam Boyle to keep it out. The next two scores went to Dunboyne and suddenly there were just three between the teams and it was game on.
Kiltale needed someone to step up to the mark and cometh the hour cometh the man as Frayne slotted ove the point of the match from under the stand after a looping run.
Graig Gilsenan replaced the McCormack at the back for Kiltale and with Dunboyne now chasing the game, Kiltale broke and a smart touch from Quinn set up Walsh to put a seven point cushion between the teams.

Kiltale and Kildalkey will have to do it all over again after this entertaining Meath senior hurling championship final draw played in ideal conditions at Páirc Tailteann.

Kildalkey will be wondering tonight just how they left this won behind them. A Noel Kirby goal after 25 minutes of the second half had The Village four points to the good and a first Jubilee Cup title since 2011 looked on the cards.
Kiltale were dealt a major blow in the early minutes of the second half when influential forward Mark O’Sullivan was sent off.
Jack Regan, who by his own standards had a quiet afternoon, came to the rescue for the six in a row chasing Kiltale with a goal and a point to tie up the game and the county star raised another white flag to give the holders the lead with two minutes of injury time remaining.
With time up referee Richie Morris awarded Kildalkey a free and Paddy Conneely pointed to earn his side a replay.
The game only came to life with Kirby’s goal and Kildalkey went in at the break 0-8 to 0-6 in front after playing with the breeze.
Before the game there was a minutes silence observed for the late Fintan Ginnity, former Chairman of the Meath County Board, who passed away last Thursday.

Seniors chase a monumental 6-in-a-row
Preparations continue on and off the pitch as our senior side chase an amazing 6-in-a-row titles to equal the Kilmessan (Drumree) team of the 1940s. Come out to support the lads in their quest against Kildalkey – throw-in in Navan is at 3.30pm.
Minor final on Saturday
Our minors kick off the weekend on Saturday, also in Pairc Tailteann at 2pm when they take on St. Peter’s Dunboyne.
We’d love to see massive support for the future of the club so come along to cheer the lads on their own big day!
Camogie girls bow out
A brave second half performance wasn’t enough for Kiltale as they bowed out of the Leinster Junior Championship in Newtown in Kildare on Sunday last vs Cappagh – Cappagh 4-14 Kiltale 1-18.
Cappagh led by 10 points at half time. Second half came and Kiltale kicked off bringing the gap to a one point lead for Cappagh with about 10 minutes left on the clock. Things did not work out and 5 gap lead meant Cappagh came out on top. Hard Luck girls.
Big Breakfast a Big Success!

Girls bring silverware to the parish with stunning win!
It was tight and exciting, but the skill and passion of the Kiltale Camogie Intermediate team shone through in the end in a pulsating encounter in Trim last Saturday.
Kiltale 2-6 Kildalkey 2-4
Kiltale got the better of Kildalkey in this eagerly contested Meath Intermediate Camogie Championship final played at Lomans Park Trim.
The winners got the better start and raced into a three point lead thanks to scores from Cheyene O’Brien, Aideen Smith and a free from Ciara Donoghue.
Kildalkey opened their account with a point before Paddy Kelly’s charges got in for two goals through Sarah Kelly and Jenny Rispin. The eventual winners
thought they had a third green flag raised but Cheyenne O’Brien effort was disallowed.
Kildalkey gave themselves some hope before the break when Rachelle Potterton goaled to leave the half time score 2-4 to 1-1 in Kiltale’s favour.
The team in Blue and White pressed hard in the second half and were rewarded with 1-3 to narrow the gap but two great long range points from Sarah Kelly and Cheyenne O’Brien steadied Kiltale and they held on to record a great victory.
Best for the winners were Emma Mc Loughlin, Cheyenne O’Brien and Fiona Madden in defence. Louise Donoghue was voted Player of the Match at midfield and was greatly assisted by Aindrea Pearle who got through a great lot of work. Up front Sarah Kelly, Rachel Gareth and Jenny Rispin were a constant threat to the Kildalkey rearguard.
After the game Meath Camogie Chairman Michael Butler presented the Jim McDermott Memorial Cup to Kiltale captain Cheyenne O’Brien.

Kiltale’s Philly Garvey with Neil Heffernan Trim during the Meath SHC semi final at Pairc Tailteann
Kiltale’s quest for six is still on course following this thrilling win over Trim in the semi-final at rain-soaked Pairc Tailteann on Sunday afternoon.
Kiltale …… 3-16 Trim …….. 3-14
A game that will be remembered for its dramatic second quarter and how the champions responded. Later as Trim pressed to maintain their Jubilee Cup bid, Kiltale were resolute in defence after a shaky first-half.
Kiltale led by 3-9 to 3-6 at the break after a first-half played in damp conditions that led to errors on both sides.
The champions responded well when pressurised and a strong rearguard action with full-back Phillip Garvey impressing along with sub Brian Reilly they leaked no further goals. The latter did well after the break to curb Trim’s top scorer Brian Dowling.
Following a first-half that yielded 21 scores including six goals, the second-half produced 15 scores, all points. Despite the drop in scoring rate, the contest developed.
Kiltale moved seven clear on two occasions in the third quarter. However, Trim did not fold as they did in last year’s final. They managed to keep the champions scoreless from the 45th minute.
As they did in the quarter-final win over Ratoath, Trim finished strongly posting four unanswered points in the last quarter when a downpour soundtracked the contest.
Just four points separated the teams in the 56th minute when James Toher was narrowly wide with a free from midfield. That was to prove crucial as six minutes of stoppage time unfolded.
Neil Cole’s men might have forced extra time if that aforementioned free had gone over. Overall, Kiltale appeared the fitter team and were able to hold their strong young challengers at bay.
Impressive indivual scoring performances were headed by Trim’s Brian Dowling who scored 1-10, that included six frees. For Kiltale, Mark O’Sullivan led the way wth 2-3 from play. Jack Regan pitched in with eight points (six frees).
The opening 13 minutes gave no indication of what was to unfold in the second quarter. The champions opened with intent to finish the contest early. With James Reilly driving them forward from wing-back Kiltale led by 1-5 to 0-1 before the opening quarter passed.
Ross Ryan might have had a second goal for Kiltale in the early stage but the Jubilee Cup holders looked good.
Like a bolt from the blue, Trim were revived by Alan Douglas’ 14th minute goal with assistance from Neil Heffernan. Kiltale still led by double scores, but that four-point deficit was eradicated four minutes later.
A long James Toher delivery was played by Brian Dowling to Heffernan who netted to tie the scores for the first time, 2-2 to 1-5, with 18 minutes gone.
It set the tone for the remainder of the half. Points from Regan (free) and Mark O’Sullivan moved Kiltale two clear. Trim responded with their third goal, in the 22nd minute when Dowling netted with help from Ian Bermingham.
That left Trim ahead for the first time, 3-2 to 1-7. Regan (free) and Alan Douglas swapped scores. Kiltale outscored Trim by 2-2 to 0-4 over the remainder of the half. The town side were chasing the game thereafter.
The crucial scores in that sequence arrived around the 26th minute with Mark O’Sullivan netting for Kiltale before assisting Fearghal McCabe for his three-pointer. Those scores proved crucial to the outcome.
