Note from the Club Players Association – ‘Fix the Fixtures’

March 8, 2017

Members, a note below from the Club Players’ Association.

~~~
A chairde,
In our continued efforts to ‘Fix The Fixtures’, we’re asking for your help this week. Please encourage just TWO players/supporters to register with the CPA at www.gaaclubplayers.com.
As our numbers continue to increase, it sends a powerful message to the GAA that the status quo is unacceptable. Encouragingly, over 3,000 people have registered since the controversial decisions at Congress.
We’ll have important updates for you in the coming weeks and we’re keen to include as many people as possible in this campaign.
We appreciate your support to date and we’re determined to keep working on you behalf to ‘Fix the Fixtures’.
Regards
Club Players Association
A date for your diary: the dinner dance will take place on 4th March, 2017 at 7.30pm in the Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim.  More information in the New Year.
Kiltale Hurling Club – Lottery Grant
Due to a complication with Folio number at the lands at Kiltale GAA pitch.  The GAA and the State solicitor are working to resolve this issue and the Lottery funding is still secure while this process is completed.  Until then the works planned for the dressing rooms are on hold.
Hurling Club Plan
This was submitted to Meath GAA in September, and as part of the plan the club will engage in bringing outside coaches to the club on a weekend in January/February to mentor all the club’s team mentors. The plan is to give coaches new ideas. We would encourage some of our retired players and present players when this date is set to come and join in. The club want to assist all as much as possible.
Defibrillator Training
The club will have training for using the defibrillator in January – so we’re asking mentors and players to be trained up on this.  No one knows when if ever the defibrillator will be need and we feel that the more people involved in the club should be aware on how to use it.  The club will be placing the defibrillator outside the dressing rooms in the coming weeks.
Please give your name to Liz Phelan 086-1205552 if you’re interested in being trained. There will be a small fee to assist this training.
Congratulations – 3 in a row!!
Congratulations to the Kiltale Senior Hurling panel and management on their victory on Sunday in the Senior final – and achieving, for the first time in the history of the club, a 3-in-a-row of Senior Hurling Championships. It is a great achievement and a serious commitment by all for this success. Thank you lads – Management and the backroom team.
Thank you, supporters
You were the 16th Man on Sunday and you have been behind the club all the time – and we are most grateful. The homecoming the lads received from the parish on Sunday evening was second to none. Sunday night and Monday night were two great nights and we hope for more. The club received a serious amount of best wishes and this also we wish to say thank you.
To all those that helped out during the week with the lads, decorating the dressing rooms – catering during the week and on the night of the final – and to Maurice, the clubhouse staff and the bar committee – you all made the homecoming work so well. Thank you all.
All those that have sponsor signs on the road, and in the match programme and Meath Chronicle, and for those that supplied the club cars and tractor: thank you.
The lads traveled on Monday morning with the cup, and without much complaining, to Kiltale, Moynalvey and Summerhill National Schools and again the welcome they received from the staff and students was great. To the staff in all schools thank you for accommodating the visit.
Kiltale Hurling Club Committee – thank you for your ongoing work it is appreciated.
